Partner, Chris Grocock and his team of eleven staff offer a proactive and professional debt recovery service. His team includes, Associate Solicitor Matthew Dix, Senior Litigation Executive Madeline Broddley, Trainee Solicitor, Nikki Elsom, Legal Assistant, Helen Cladingbowl, trainee legal executives, Becky Graves, Charlotte Cockerill, Kyla Redding and Vicky Hornsby, paralegal Laura Topliss and legal assistant, Chris Hall.
Chris is based at the Grimsby office and specialises in debt collection, commercial litigation and insolvency work. "We understand the debt recovery process extremely well, each case is treated individually and any action we take will only be done after close consultation with you. We work in a fast paced environment and are therefore quick to respond to your needs. Our department is split in three teams:
1. Pre-legal and legal recovery
2. Insolvency
3. Commercial litigation
We provide the appropriate expertise for each case and offer comprehensive financial recovery and litigation service 'under one roof'. Your case will be handled by a member of our team experienced in the relevant field. For more complicated issues or defended cases you will be advised by an experienced commercial litigation solicitor and insolvency matters will be dealt with by our insolvency experts. We therefore ensure that your case receives attention from one of our specialists".
Insolvency
We can assist you with personal bankruptcy and proceedings to wind up companies. These are highly effective means of recovering debts and given our breadth of experience within the department, we are also well placed to deal with post-insolvency work.
Our Clients
We deal with both national and international recovery. We advise a variety of clients including SME's, PLC's educational institutions, those working in the fishing industry and a large number of local authorities. References are available upon request.
County Court Bulk Centre
We have invested heavily to become members of the County Court Bulk Centre. Information is sent on CD to speed up court issue. Our clients receive discounts on Court fees and 'next day' issue of Court proceedings and enforcement measures.
Such measures may include:
1. Warrant of Execution to Bailiffs and high Court Enforcement Officers
2. Attachment of earnings on debtor's salary.
3. Third party debt order
4. Charging order proceedings against land and investments
5. Order to Attend Court for Questioning
Interactive Debt Recovery
All of our clients may utilise our online debt recovery system without charge. Our system works by providing you with secure access via the internet to 'real time' information about the status of your case. Clients can track cases online and download reports. The benefits of this are:

3. Financial and progress reports direct to your computer
4. Notification of payments online
Late Payment Legislation
Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 provides a mechanism for creditors to recover compensation interest for late payment in business to business transactions. In all cases we will calculate and claim interest and compensation from the initial letter before action onwards to ensure recovery of the maximum sum payable to you. The compensation is variable depending on the amount involved and interest is 8% over the base rate. For more information, please ask for our guide to late payment.
Costs
We make no charge for debts that are not recovered prior to Court proceedings being issued. We will be pleased to discuss your requirements and agree charging rates with you.

The team are also recognised as one of the market leaders in the field of local authority debt recovery.
