Partner, Nigel Burn is head of the criminal department and is based at the Lincoln office. Nigel has specialised in crime since 1980 and has held the Law Society’s Higher Courts (Criminal Proceedings) qualification since 1994, entitling him to appear in the Crown Court and the Court of Appeal. He has represented defendants throughout the Magistrates Court, in the Crown Court, in Courts Martial and in the Court of Appeal.
His team include Partner, Gordon Holt, Associate, Rachel Taylor and Paralegal, Warwick Talyor. Partner, Mark Robinson also specialises in this area at the firm's Louth office.
The criminal team are members of the Law Society's Criminal Litigation Panel.
We are also members of the Law Society's Specialist Fraud Panel and are authorised by the Law Society on the basis of experience to deal with the major fraud cases. Wilkin Chapman is the only firm in Lincolnshire to be authorised to do this.
The firm also specialises in Military Courts Martials and Armed Forces Disciplinary Proceedings. The team have appeared in thousands of courts martials both in the UK and abroad appearing for the Court of Appeal and ultimately the European Court of Human rights on behalf of military personnel.
